We Choose to honor Kathleen first because she was the one that gave us the idea to celebrate a special woman each week or month. The importance of Kathleen's idea and a look at her life bought us to consensus that our viewers should know whom this young lady is. The most admirable thing about Kathleen is that she is a foster mother to 2yr old twin girls. She has struggled to keep these adorable little ones together and in a warm and loving home with people that care about them. Kathleen is 25 yrs old with out any children of her own and had recently married and moved on her own with her husband when she made the decision to be the foster mother to her nieces. We know how difficult it is to keep siblings together if someone in the family does not step up to the plate and commit to helping out once children are in the foster care system. We admire Kathleen and commend her commitment.

Meet Kathleen and learn a little more about her as the Charmed Ones interviewed her.....

How would you describe your childhood?

"I was raised by my mother with 3 sisters and 2 brothers in New York City. I am a caring person that loves people and always wants to lend a helping hand. As a child, I was surrounded by my entire family. My grandmother helped to raise us and taught us to believe that no one can hold you back from you dreams. She taught us that there was no such thing as "can't" and you should go through, over, under around or simply knock down any obstacle in your way. I went through a lot as a young girl but those words always kept me afloat and on the right path."

Tell us about a time you have overcome adversity and how?

"The event that first comes to mind is the unfortunate death of my stepfather. He passed away in 1999 on the day of my junior high school graduation. It started out as a joyous occasion but ended with heartache. I cant say that I've overcome losing him, but I will say that he was a womderful man. He was a prime example of someone that chased his dreams to the end, Before being diagnosed with cancer he was pursuing his BA, and even after his diagnosis he continued his classes along with many doctors appointments and treatments. Although he didn't get to walk with his class, he did graduate. He not only chased his dreams but actually was able to accomplish that goal before leaving this earth."

Where are you today, and what are some goals for the future?

"My childhood and my adversity brings me exactly to where I am today. I am a happily married woman with a degree in early childhood education. I am currently a foster parent to my twin nieces. I am also pursuing a hidden passion of mine which is to be a bridal consultant. My future goals consists of purchasing a home, starting my own business-a home daycare. I also want to work part time planning the biggest day of a woman's life...her wedding day.

A typical day in the life of Kathleen is indescribable because there are constant changes and new obstacles to overcome.
