Meet our family...Celebrating the life of our brother Lavar.

WE GATHERED TOGETHER TO HONOR OUR LOVELY BROTHER AND CELEBRATE HIS

LIFE.

Lavar Wilson Woods went to go be with the Lord 2 years ago after drowning in a pool in GA. We like to believe that GOD needed more soldiers by his side. We gather each year to CELEBRATE and REMEMBER our brother's life. It is a happy event and one we look forward to. We truly believe Lavar was there in spirit. RIP Lavar!!!!

This is our brother Maurice's fiance Jamarese

Our older brother Maurice aka Mo....he has a lot of responsibility with all of his sisters.

Believe it or not this is our NEPHEW Cordy...he is 23 (same age as Kia) This has something to do with our dad being 16 yrs older than our mother...our oldest sister Alasha who couldnt attend is only 2 years younger than my mom...that's how we are able to have a nephew 23 yrs old :)...yesss we know its different but we love being different.

This young man helps Maurice hold down the forte and always has been a close friend of the family, Wesley is like our brother, hes one of Maurice's best friends.

Here are joined by our older sister Orissa, our nephew (her son) Tyler and another close friend of the family Renee. Kia has been friends with her since 4th grade so we consider her family.

Our nephew Cordy (23) has a son...we are actually in the presence of a GREAT NEPHEW....that is so absurd. He was one of the most CHARMING babies we have ever met...he will instantly touch your heart. He's cheerful, playful and has a smile that is contagious.

After the bar b que we decided to go for drinks with the friends whom came out to support us and our family!!!

Tas is followed by Brittany and Laura enjoying a blue Hawaiian from BBQ's in Washington Heights in NYC. Special thanks to Brittany who showed her love and traveled all the way from Delaware to do so.

Kia and her close friend Sashii, Last year she attempted to attend to pay her respects to Lavar and our family...this year she actually got to spend time with the family. We were grateful for her presence.

This is the second cake for Lavar. Indeed he is missed terribly, but we make sure to smile because that's how he would love to see us. We believe he's watching over us smiling too.

We gathered an entire group (everyone available at the time) to take a pic in memory of Lavar..notice we all have on the pins. The women in red are Lavar's mom Ellen (far right) and Lavar's sister (whom we have adopted as our sister too) Athena.

Overall this day was fun for everyone. We all really appreciated spending time with our family and getting the opportunity to celebrate the life of our brother Lavar. We will forever miss him, cherish our memories of him, and hold close the people who are in our lives, for life, as we know, is way too short.
